Create your own reality...

One of my goals with this website is to get away from the 'negative noise' that comes with social media and the internet in general. The noise of people telling you how to do things because their way is so much better. You know....
How to have a 'better' menopause.
How to get fit now your hormones have turned against you.
What to eat/and what not to eat.
How to dress.
How to think.
What to say.
The never ending advice from the 'experts' who know you and your life better than you do!!
I don't know about you, but I find it exhausting, and actually really overwhelming. Who do you listen to when everyone is telling you something different. How do you get out of the maze of (most of the time) well meaning advice and find YOUR way.
The answer to that is actually quite simple (but like all simple things we think that it can't possibly be that easy right!)
But it really is and it starts with listening to yourself. Learning how to tap into your own intuition and creating a reality in which you can thrive.
Lets face it, most of us know that if we were able to take a step back and slow the heck down, then things would get a lot easier and clearer.
Trouble is that we have gotten so caught up in lives that are so busy, and that most of the time put us last, that listening to ourselves is a skill that we have long forgotten how to do.
When I started to go through the menopause nearly 10 years ago now I searched high and low for positive information on what I was moving through. I didn't find anything.
What I did find was a lot of negativity about how life as I knew it was now over. I'd never be that young and vibrant woman that I had been, ever again.
10 years on and I can't say as a lot has changed. Not in the general arena that most people look at anyway. We are still being sold a story that our best days are behind us, and that it takes so much more now to be fit and active and heaven forbid (as slim) as we were. And for most of us struggling to keep up with the pace of modern life....... well, who the heck has time right.
It angers me that menopause is tied up with such negative connotations still. That we are made to be victims of our bodies and this transition that most women have been brainwashed into dreading.
Because 10 years on and that is not my experience. I feel stronger than ever. Not just physically, but more importantly mentally and emotionally. I know who I am in a way that I never did, nor was ever taught to question.
I feel my strength and stand in it every day. Strong, confident, and with a wisdom that comes from age, that is actually the gift that menopause gives us all.
The wisdom to know our true selves, and not be afraid to shine that out to the world. Heaven knows its what is needed now more than ever.
Being able to create our own reality; one that is rooted in what it truly means to be feminine; far surpasses all that noise on the internet telling you how to lose your 'meno-belly, wrinkles, crows feet and double chins'. All that does is keep you stuck in a rut and miserable.
Ladies, this is our time. Its our time to learn what makes us tick and then show up for ourselves by living our own reality.
What I am creating here at Mid-Life Magick is a place where we can share and explore all that in a safe environment. A place of community, where we can hold space for each other when we are struggling, cheer and celebrate each others success when times are going well, and lift each other to a higher level that will ultimately benefit all.
Sounds like something worth having a go at doesn't it!
